“For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me.”
Matthew 25: 35-36
The Well are committed to supporting the needs of our local community. On Sunday 14 December, the congregation of The Well generously donated clothing, toiletries, hygiene products and non-perishable foods. Our Youth and Sunday School Leader used these items to prepare over 40 homeless care packages for men and women.
The care packages were delivered by our Pastor to Croydon Together Night Shelter, operating out of West Croydon Baptist Church. The shelter will run from Mid-January to April 2026 and will support 12-20 men and women from the Croydon area, who are experiencing homelessness.

Croydon Voluntary Action has worked on this shelter in collaboration with a range of community organisations, Housing Justice and Croydon Council. They continue to fundraise for this initiative, with the hope of replicating the night shelter again next winter. The shelter will provide a warm bed, safe space, hot meals and showers as well as support to help them move on from rough sleeping and develop connections within their community.
